About BJYM Maharashtra

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the largest polictial party in the world with over 10,00,00,000 members. It strongly adheres to cultural nationalism and integral humanism. As a major national party of India, the BJP has made a number of significant contributions to politics. In order to give greater representation to the youth of the country and ensure that young people can have greater access and empower the youth, the youth wing of the party was created – the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), which formally serves as the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The BJYM, like the BJP has a similar structure, with a President, Vice Presidents, General Secretaries, Secretaries and Executive members. With the National Executive being the highest descision making body of the BJYM. At the state level, a similar structure is in place. The Bharatiya Janata Party is a cadre based party, with the members of its affiliates, such as the BJYM, frequently supplementing that of the main party. Many prominent leaders of the BJP, such as Shri Kalraj Mishra, Shri Rajnath Singh, Late Shri Pramod Mahajan and Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, were once National Presidents of BJYM.

The BJYM has been at the fore fornt of rasising issues that effect the youth, and has protested several times against price rise and high inflation, particularly in reaction to the high rate of inflation in India since 2000. In 2007, the BJYM demanded a special youth policy, as well as the prioritization of local businesses over multinational corporations, in order to address the rate of unemployment. In 2008, the Yuva Mocha campaigned against unemployment and terrorism in Kerala stating that the Communist Party of India (Marxist), state government was soft on terrorism.
